On 2-4 October 2023, the judges of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (SACL) paid a working visit to the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), where they met with the President of the Court, Koen Lenaerts, and other CJEU judges, as well as with the Lithuanian judges working at the CJEU: Irmantas Jarukaitis, Rimvydas Norkus, and Saulius Lukas Kalėda.

The President of the Supreme Administrative Court, Skirgailė Žalimienė, together with the judges of the Supreme Administrative Court, Ernestas Spruogis, Veslava Ruskan, Arūnas Dirvonas, Iveta Pelienė, Beata Martišienė, Jolanta Malijauskienė, Rasa Ragulskyte-Markovienė, Dainius Raižys, Rytis Krasauskas, Arūnas Sutkevičius, Milda Vainienė, Laimutis Alechnavičius, Artūras Drigotas, Audrius Bakaveckas, Dalia Višinskienė, Agnė Veršelytė, Audronė Gedmintaitė and Justina Nasutavičienė, lawyers of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania, participated in a round table discussion where the President of the CJEU, Koen Lenaerts, and Judge Irmantas Jarukaitis, presented the topic "Review of the Court of Justice's structure and jurisdiction".

The participants also discussed the topic "Standards of the Rule of Law with Particular Reference to the Right of Access to Justice in Supranational and National Jurisprudence", which was presented in more detail by Judge Irmantas Jarukaitis and President Skirgailė Žalimienė. The participants continued their discussions on the topic "Recent Developments in the Case Law of the Court of Justice of the European Union and National Courts on Data Protection". This issue was presented in more detail by Advocate General of the CJEU Manuel Campos Sánchez-Bordona and Vice-President of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania Ernestas Spruogis.

During the visit, the delegation also met the President of the General Court Marc van der Woude, the Vice-President of the General Court Savvas Papasavvas, General Court Judge Rimvydas Norkus, General Court Judge Saulius Lukas Kalėda, and the Registrar Vittorio Di Bucci. During the meeting, the members of the General Court gave a detailed presentation to the judges of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania on the reform of the General Court under consideration at the European Union level. During the visit, SACL judges also participated in a working meeting with the Directorate for Research and Documentation and the Lithuanian Legal Translation Unit of the Directorate-General for Multilingualism.

In addition to the above-mentioned meetings, the SACL delegation participated in a Grand Chamber hearing regarding cases in the field of social assistance – indirect discrimination.
