Guests from Macedonia visited the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania

Last week members of the Chief Administrative Disputes Commission of Macedonia visited the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (SACL) where they met the representatives of the Court and discussed the current features of pre-trial settlement of disputes of the two countries.

The Chair of the Chief Administrative Disputes Commission of Macedonia and two of its members, the member of the Chief Administrative Dispute Commission of the Republic of Lithuania Roma Sabina Alimienė, the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania Ričardas Piličiauskas and the Director of the Legal Research and Information Department Audronė Gedmintaitė attended the meeting.

During the visit, the participants talked about the current features of pre-trial settlement of disputes of the two countries as well as discussed the similarities and differences between them. Guests from Macedonia were interested in the compulsory questions of the procedure of pre-trial settlement of disputes in Lithuania, the competence of pre-trial dispute settlement authorities, the realities of non-judicial dispute settlement procedures. The participants in the meeting also discussed the trends in the proceedings, the case flow and the current features relating to pre-trial investigation procedures of the separate categories of cases. The guests have also emphasised the similarity in the judicial systems of both countries.
