On September 20,  the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (SACL) got visited by a delegation from Kazakhstan‘s authorities‘ civil servants and journalists, accompanied by the president of the Union of Lithuanian Journalists Dainius Radzevičius and journalist Ernest Olesinski.

President of the Court Skirgailė Žalimienė in conjunction with SACL judges and specialists presented the guests about the activity of the Court, cases and their categories, the relevance of administrative cases to the society and the State, also sharing the newest case-law regarding public information.

Furthermore, the judges exchanged information which categories of cases require a commentary for the press, television and radio most often, reviewed the Court‘s and the representatives‘ of the media cooperation issues and successes.

The guests took interest in the duration and efficiency of hearing cases, application methods, written, oral and remote hearing management, also sharing experience about the cooperation between Kazakhstan‘s courts and the media.

The hosting SACL judges noted that during the pandemic the demand for remote court hearings was made clear and this method had been proven successful, therefore it is expected to remain. The delegation had the chance to visit courtrooms in real life as well as the Court registry.
