On 16 May 2023, the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (SACL) was visited by competition law experts and representatives of the competition supervisory authorities from Georgia participating in the European Union Twinning program.

Upon greeting the guests, Judge Dalia Višinskienė of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania, with the Court's lawyers Audronė Gedmintaitė and Justina Nasutavičienė, discussed the Lithuanian court system, judicial procedures, judges' specializations in competition law cases, mentioning the most important competition law cases heard by SACL, the directions of practice of the administrative courts in this category of cases, and exchanged views on how the competition authorities themselves can contribute to more efficient proceedings.

The participants also discussed the evolution and development of competition cases in Lithuania and Georgia, discussed the legislative processes for the successful handling of competition cases, and highlighted the cooperation between the institutions of the two countries in strengthening the European integration ties between Lithuania and Georgia.

The representatives of the delegation from Georgia are participating in the European Union Twinning project, which aims to help ensure the compatibility of Georgia's legislation with the requirements of the European Union law and to strengthen the culture of competition and consumer protection among the representatives of the public and the private sectors.
