CJEU Judge Jarukaitis visited SACL
On 27 July 2023, Judge Irmantas Jarukaitis visited the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (SACL) and presented the latest trends in the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).
Judge Irmantas Jarukaitis met with the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania, Skirgailė Žalimienė, SACL judges and lawyers and summarised the significant recent case law, statistics and developments of CJEU, with a particular focus on the interpretation of the effectiveness of European Union law, the independence of the judiciary and the effectiveness of judicial review in the recent case law of the CJEU.
During the meeting, participants also discussed and raised questions on the legal implications of the interpretations given in the CJEU judgments under discussion for the national legal system and on the possible development of common standards of European Union law in the further jurisprudence of CJEU.
