On 7 April 2025, a delegation of judges and court staff from the Versailles Administrative Court of Appeal visited the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (SACL) in the framework of the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) bilateral exchange programme.
The delegation was received by Ernestas Spruogis, Vice-President of the Supreme Administrative Court, Dina Drutel, Acting Chancellor of the Court, and Audronė Gedmintaitė, Director of the Department of Judicial Practice. The discussion was also attended by Gediminas Užubalis, President of the Regional Administrative Court, Judge Indrė Pukanasytė-Biekšė and Simona Bareikytė, Adviser to the Office of the President of the Court, who accompanied the delegation.
Representatives of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania presented the system of administrative courts in Lithuania, the functions of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania, the procedure for applying to the administrative courts of Lithuania, and discussed the statistics of the administrative courts. They also shared good practice in the areas of organisation of court work and the procedure of administrative cases.
The French judges were particularly interested in the normative cases handled by the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania, the principles of case law formation, inquired about the most frequently handled administrative disputes and the trends in their settlement, and presented the system of the French administrative courts, the organisation of their work and the peculiarities of the courts' decision-making.
